End of the month review: September, 2005
Not that anybody reads these month-end round-ups, but I screwed up last time by saying I hadnt bought any new books. Im so far behind that my statement that I hadnt bought anything was more like wishful thinking. I bought lots of stuff before I left. Not that I can figure it out, but Ill give it a shot. At some other time, that is, not now. Dear god, not now. Right now, Im just trying to catch up with the tail end of 2005, which shouldnt be too hard, as my monthly reading is on the low end now. Yeesh. Really on the low end. Im nearly four months behind, and yet, I only have eight books to write up. I remember when finishing eight books in a month meant I was doing rather poorly.
In any case:
- Best book: Adam Haslett, with You Are Not a Stranger Here. The only book that hit so close to home that I finally hit back.
- Worst book: Greg Cox, with his official novelization of the Daredevil movie. Im sure everyone else is thinking, well, duh... with this pick, but you forget that I liked the Daredevil movie, and in addition, Im a total dork fanboy.
Anyway. As for the books read between September 2 and October 1...
- Books read: Eight.
- Money spent on books read during this period: $25.23.
- Books bought during this time: None. NONE! This time I mean it!
So that means for 2005 thus far...
- I read 94 books. That doesnt seem quite right, Ill need to double check when I have free time. Maybe in seven years.
- I also spent $389.67 on books this year.
